We are seeking a Senior Electrical and Power Electronics Engineer to join the Advanced Concepts and Technology team in a critical technical role. This position requires deep expertise in power converter design, development, testing, and application engineering, with ownership across the full lifecycle — from analysis, simulation, build/manufacturing, and validation to support for controls, software development, and real-time modeling. You will lead the design and optimization of advanced inverters, DC/DC converters, resonant converters, and active rectifiers, while also addressing their integration into larger power and energy systems such as grids, microgrids, islanded systems, energy storage, and propulsion platforms. This role is well suited for a creative, self-directed engineer who can solve complex technical challenges independently and help mentor junior engineers. Review customer requirements for industrial, marine, renewable, and naval power converters and identify gaps between customer needs and current product capabilities. Develop detailed electrical and electronics specifications and lead architecture/trade-off decisions affecting components, layout, and materials. Own projects from concept through validated solution, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, test procedures, and commissioning documentation. Perform power electronics and system modeling/simulation using tools like MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, and LTspice to validate topologies and control strategies before prototyping. Analyze grid and microgrid interaction, including grid-tied/islanded stability, harmonics, power quality, and EMI/EMC filter design. Build, test, and troubleshoot prototypes and system mockups, execute validation plans, and characterize electrical/functional performance. Serve as the technical lead / SME for converter projects, lead design reviews, guide PCB, controls, and junior engineers, and partner with project managers to maintain schedule and customer alignment. Collaborate across firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, sourcing, application engineering, suppliers, and global GE Vernova teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
