Objective
The Sales Associate supports store performance by helping customers select suitable products and converting browsing interest into purchases. The position also contributes to merchandise presentation, stock control, cash handling, loss prevention, and the overall retail experience.
Customer Service and Sales
- Greet customers and assist them in selecting appropriate products.
- Engage with browsing customers and support conversion into completed purchases.
- Promote the Club Apparel Loyalty Program to encourage repeat sales.
- Follow the company 's GUEST selling approach: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, Thank.
- Maintain current knowledge of the group 's brands to support suggestive selling.
- Deliver customer service according to established company standards.
Product Knowledge and Professional Standards
- Maintain a presentable and well-groomed appearance at all times.
- Keep product knowledge current and use it effectively when assisting customers.
- Support measures aimed at minimizing stock loss.
- Remain flexible to work extended hours during sale periods.
- Work varied shifts and overtime according to business requirements.
Merchandising and Inventory
- Arrange and display stock attractively according to standard store layout requirements.
- Follow visual merchandising guidelines across the sales floor.
- Maintain applicable stock norms for clearance merchandise.
- Record incoming and outgoing inventory accurately.
- Maintain required inventory movement records.
- Support store maintenance and visual presentation standards assigned by management.
POS and Cash Handling
- Operate the Point of Sale and billing counter efficiently.
- Tally cash in the till at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Process payments by cash, credit card, voucher, or automatic debit.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change accurately.
- Follow established transaction and cash-handling procedures.
Security and Loss Prevention
- Remain vigilant regarding store security throughout the shift.
- Follow company SOP and Loss Prevention Policies.
- Handle stock and transactions carefully to help minimize losses.
- Maintain confidentiality of store sales figures and do not disclose internal sales information to external parties.
