Detailed Job Description
As a Sales / Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, engaging with clients, analyzing technical requirements, preparing techno-commercial proposals, and supporting contract negotiations. You will serve as the key liaison between customers, engineering teams, vendors, and management to ensure solutions are aligned with client requirements and project objectives. The role requires extensive experience within the Oil & Gas, Marine, Onboard, Shipyard, or Maritime industries, combined with strong knowledge of electronic and electrical engineering systems. This position offers an opportunity to work with a respected organization serving critical industrial and marine sectors within Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within Oil & Gas, Marine, Offshore, and Shipyard sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and industry stakeholders.
- Review RFQs, RFPs, tenders, and technical specifications.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals aligned with customer requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and vendor teams to develop competitive solutions.
- Conduct technical evaluations and cost estimations.
- Support tender clarification meetings and technical presentations.
- Prepare bid documentation and proposal submissions.
- Negotiate pricing, scope, terms, and commercial conditions with customers.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and proposals.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities.
- Support project handover activities following contract award.
- Maintain proposal databases, bid records, and sales documentation.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets and revenue objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Strong background in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience.
- Proven experience in technical sales and proposal engineering.
- Strong experience within one or more of the following industries:
- Oil & Gas
- Marine
- Offshore
- Onboard Systems
- Shipyard Operations
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Strong proposal preparation and tender management experience.
- Knowledge of commercial and contractual processes.
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and opportunities simultaneously.
