Role Context

The Science Laboratory Technician will provide practical and organisational support to the Science department, helping ensure laboratories are properly prepared, maintained, and ready for lessons and experiments. Working in coordination with the Head of Science and Science teachers, the technician will maintain laboratory resources, prepare practical activities, and contribute to safe and orderly laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and regularly update the register of laboratory equipment.
• Keep accurate records of chemicals and other laboratory consumables.
• Monitor laboratory resources to ensure records remain current and organised.
• Prepare laboratory experiments and practical activities in coordination with the Head of Science and Science teachers.
• Ensure required equipment and materials are prepared for practical Science lessons.
• Keep Science laboratories organised and clean in collaboration with teachers and the Head of Science.
• Support effective management and organisation of laboratory equipment and consumables.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with other members of the Science department on laboratory safety requirements.
• Provide practical support to staff and students during laboratory activities as required.
