About Astra:
Astra is a cyber security SaaS company that makes otherwise chaotic pentests a breeze with its one of a kind Pentest Platform. Astra's continuous vulnerability scanner emulates hacker behavior to scan applications for 9300+ security tests. CTOs & CISOs love Astra because it helps them fix vulnerabilities in record time and move from DevOps to DevSecOps with Astra's CI/CD integrations.
Astra is loved by 650+ companies across the globe. In 2023 Astra uncovered 2 million+ vulnerabilities for its customers, saving customers $69M+ in potential losses due to security vulnerabilities.
We've been awarded by the President of France Mr. François Hollande at the La French Tech program and Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi at the Global Conference on Cyber Security. Loom, MamaEarth, Muthoot Finance, Canara Robeco, ScripBox etc. are a few of Astra’s customers.
Role Overview
At Astra Security, we are building the future of AI-driven cybersecurity, including Autonomous Pentesting- an experience that helps teams automatically discover, test and secure Web & Mobile applications, Cloud and APIs at scale.
As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the core backend services that power our platform. You'll work on developing scalable APIs, distributed services, and backend systems that enable platform capabilities. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, DevOps, and fellow backend engineers to build reliable, secure, and high-performance systems. During your journey with us, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to new product initiatives from 0-1, influence technical decisions, and own features from design through production.
Here's what's in it for you
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Own features end-to-end- from technical design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that power core platform functionality.
- Leverage AI effectively to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and debugging while ensuring all code meets production-quality standards through critical review and validation
- Design clean, maintainable, and reusable software following object-oriented design principles.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, DevOps, QA, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Design efficient database schemas and optimise queries for performance and scalability.
- Build reliable asynchronous workflows using queues, events, and background processing.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Ship production-ready code frequently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Continuously improve developer productivity, system reliability, and engineering
