Overview
A family in Qatar is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Specialist/Caregiver to provide dedicated one-to-one care for their 12-year-old son, who has a diagnosis of severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is currently taking prescribed medication.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with severe autism, a patient and caring approach, and the ability to provide consistent supervision and support within a private household.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated one-to-one care, supervision and support for a 12-year-old boy with severe autism
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, feeding and mobility, as required
- Support the child's developmental needs through appropriate learning, sensory and social activities
- Administer prescribed medication where authorised and appropriately trained, maintaining accurate medication and care records
- Monitor the child's wellbeing, behaviour and daily routine, adapting care to his individual needs
- Maintain a safe, structured and supportive environment within the family home
- Communicate effectively with the family regarding the child's care, routines and progress
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification or relevant recognised caregiver certification
- A minimum of five years' relevant professional experience
- Strong, demonstrable experience supporting individuals with severe autism, ideally children
- Experience providing care within a private household is highly desirable
- A patient, compassionate and reliable approach, with the ability to manage the demands of a one-to-one care role
- Ability to follow care plans and medication protocols appropriately
- Food, accommodation and transport provided
