Senior Actuary - Pricing (P&C Insurance | Remote (U.S.)
We’re partnering with a leading P&C Insurance carrier to hire a Pricing Actuary to play a key role in shaping pricing strategy across some of its most complex and high-impact markets.
This is a highly visible position working at the intersection of Product, Pricing, and Underwriting — focused on driving profitable growth, enhancing market responsiveness, and ensuring strong regulatory alignment.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of deep actuarial pricing expertise, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to operate cross-functionally. You’ll be someone who can translate complex analysis into clear strategic direction, influence stakeholders, and help navigate an evolving and dynamic market landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of actuarial analysis and pricing initiatives across key states, supporting tailored, state-level strategies
- Collaborate closely with Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, and Finance to align actuarial work with broader business goals
- Track portfolio performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability and drive sustainable growth
- Oversee actuarial contributions to rate filings and regulatory engagement, including developing indications, documentation, exhibits, and responses to inquiries
- Continuously refine pricing approaches, assumptions, governance frameworks, and analytical capabilities to strengthen decision-making
- Deliver insights on performance trends, catastrophe risk, reinsurance dynamics, and emerging exposures to inform strategy
- Translate complex actuarial concepts into clear, practical recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Guide and support actuarial analysts throughout the rate filing lifecycle, ensuring quality and consistency in output
What We’re Looking For
- ACAS or FCAS designation is required
- 7+ years of actuarial pricing experience within the Property & Casualty insurance sector
- Background supporting personal lines or high-net-worth insurance products is advantageous
- Solid expertise in ratemaking, predictive modeling, and the regulatory landscape governing insurance
- Proven experience contributing to rate filings and engaging with Departments of Insurance is highly valued
- Knowledge of key state markets such as California, Florida, New York, and/or Texas is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, and Excel
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across a range of stakeholders
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
Location: Chicago - remote candidates might be considered if exceptional
