This role demands a proactive approach to system expansion, optimization, and strategic foresight in infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and scaling of high-volume, low-latency backend services to support our growing user base and data throughput.
- Own end-to-end delivery of critical backend initiatives - from design and implementation to production rollout and monitoring.
- Architect robust, scalable systems within our event-driven microservices architecture on AWS serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, API Gateway).
- Ensure system reliability, efficiency, and redundancy, including disaster recovery strategies and data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend features with user demands and overall business goals.
- Mentor junior developers and lead by example in coding, process refinement, and architectural decisions.
- Optimize existing systems for maximum speed and scalability through rigorous testing and profiling.
- Build with security best practices and partner with our DevSecOps lead on reviews and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record in scalable systems.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Extensive experience with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS/event-driven patterns).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong database management skills with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience with financial services applications or social networking platforms will be a significant plus.
