As a Senior L2 Engineer – E/// R6 K Routers at Tan Int in Qatar, you will take full ownership of maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Ericsson Router 6000 (R6 K) and SPOs nodes within a live production telecommunications environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass managing L2 production operations, resolving escalated network incidents, executing deep-dive fault isolation, performing rigorous root-cause analysis (RCA), and managing software releases, deployments, and Method of Procedures (MOP). You will leverage Python and Groovy scripting to automate routine operational tasks, support telecom order orchestration and revenue assurance workflows, and ensure strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Working in a fast-paced international telecom environment offering a 1-year extendable contract, you will drive network reliability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities: Provide expert L2 production operations, maintenance, and support for Ericsson Router 6000 (R6 K) series and SPOs nodes. Lead complex incident resolution, deep-dive fault isolation, and comprehensive root-cause analysis (RCA) for network outages. Manage software releases, firmware upgrades, network deployments, and Method of Procedures (MOP) compliance. Develop and execute automation scripts using Python and Groovy to streamline operational workflows and telemetry parsing. Support telecom order orchestration, service provisioning integration, and revenue assurance data validation. Collaborate closely with network operations center (NOC) teams, field engineering squads, and vendor technical support. Ensure uncompromising adherence to carrier-grade availability, performance SLAs, and security compliance baselines. Review and approve engineering change requests, configuration backups, and network migration runbooks. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency fault resolution and high-priority escalation handling. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, incident logs, network architecture diagrams, and audit reports. Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of professional engineering experience in telecommunications IP/MPLS core and transport networks. Mandatory hands-on operational experience with Ericsson Router 6000 (R6 K) and SPOs node platforms. Proven practical experience in L2 production operations, incident resolution, and deep-dive troubleshooting. Solid background in release management, software deployments, and Method of Procedures (MOP) governance. Scripting proficiency in Python and Groovy for network automation and operational tooling. Familiarity with telecom order orchestration and revenue assurance principles. Mandatory Ericsson R6 K Foundation or higher professional certification.
