Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage a high-volume caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution.
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, Bills of Particulars, stipulations, and other legal documents.
- Investigate insurance coverage, liability, and asset information through DMV searches, police reports, FOIL requests, ACRIS, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other available resources.
- Open, maintain, and manage no-fault, bodily injury, uninsured/underinsured motorist, and premises liability claims.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, medical providers, and court personnel.
- Coordinate depositions, court appearances, and other litigation-related proceedings, including trial preparation activities.
- Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, settlement packages, trial exhibits, witness materials, and case-related documentation.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial testimony.
- Oversee document production, correspondence, court filings, and compliance with OCA requirements.
- Maintain accurate case records, database entries, and document management systems to ensure timely and efficient case handling.
Qualifications
- 2 years minimum of Legal experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters is a plus
- Adept at learning and using legal software
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and have excellent time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
