The company designs and builds custom fixtures and displays for national retail brands, from the first prototype to multi-store roll-outs, in its own shop and with partner factories in the US and abroad. Until now, engineering has run through the CEO. This hire takes it over as the top engineering seat on site.
You'll have CNC operators running the machines, a shop crew building from your drawings, and supporting engineers whose work you guide and review.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘄𝗻
• Engineering on every project: 3D models, complete drawing packages, cut lists and revision control, designed for how it gets built, shipped and installed.
• CNC programming: write and prove each new program so it cuts right the first time, then improve cut times, tooling life and machine upkeep while the operators run production. Metal parts go to outside cutting partners from your files.
• Prototypes, built and tested on the shop floor before a design goes into production.
• Partner factories and suppliers, here and overseas: specs, first-article reviews and production roll-outs.
• The engineering voice in client design reviews, approvals and quoting.
• Engineering standards and lean improvement, side by side with the shop lead so every build matches the drawings.
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲
• You're an engineer first. You take pride in clean, complete drawings and catch the problem on the screen, not on the shop floor.
• You've designed things that actually got built in wood and metal: store fixtures, displays, furniture, millwork or similar custom work.
• You'd rather own the whole engineering picture at a growing company than be one of many engineers somewhere big.
• You're as comfortable in the shop as you are in CAD.
Not for you if you'd rather manage engineers than do the engineering, or if you're looking for a machine operator role.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴
• A strong mechanical, manufacturing or design engineering background, with years of custom products taken from concept into production.
• Advanced SolidWorks or Fusion 360, including full production drawing packages you create on your own.
• Hands-on CNC programming (CAM toolpaths, nesting, setup) for wood or sheet goods, enough to own and validate every new program.
• Several projects at once, and clear communication with clients, suppliers and builders.
• A degree is welcome, but your build history counts most.
𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
• Spanish, which opens up more of the partner-factory work.
• Experience in store fixtures, displays, furniture or millwork.
• Sheet metal and finishing know-how.
• Work with overseas factories.
• Lean or 5S.
𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀
• $120,000 to $150,000 base, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus.
• Relocation help for the right candidate.
• Medical, dental and vision, a 401(k) with company match, and paid time off plus holidays.
• Full-time and on-site, with light travel to partner factories and installs.
