Senior PR Account Executive (SAE)

The Role:

As a Senior PR Account Executive, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of public relations campaigns and maintaining client relationships.

You will also work closely with junior staff to provide mentorship and guidance to ensure successful results across markets.

Responsibilities:

Project implementation:

• Develop and execute public relations/media strategies for our clients in the F&B sector and ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects each client’s strategic vision
• Manages the implementation of PR plan, including press conferences, media briefings, analyst meetings, media tours
• Contribute to the design of and execute media relations campaigns

Media outreach:

• Pitch trade and consumer reporters
• Continue developing relationships with reporters, Chief Editors and Leaders in the Media landscape
• Able to work with external parties as Media, journalists, Influencers, clients, agencies or other third parties, i.e brands for partnership
• Pitch consumer and trade media, deliver placements and flawless story follow-through
• Identify and create original stories to build brand reputation and pitch to Media
• Assist various clients in writing news releases, media invites, Q&As, features, bios and other communication material
• Media events organisation and on-ground support
• Clients support with Media brief documents, interview preparation and Media training
• Brainstorm and collaborate with the Client Service (CS) team for new ideas that will raise the client’s profile with key target audiences
• Measure the success of campaigns through Umami's ways of media monitoring and be able to identify points of success and key learnings

Editorial:

• Draft PR materials, including press releases, backgrounders, pitch letters and other document
• Edit writing of junior-level staffers

Research:

• Help with research, including Internet searches, third-party audits, media audits
• Identification of key opinion leaders (KOLs)
• Evaluates and analyzes information and data, including development of succinct, accurate summaries and analyses of research

Account management:

• Ensure timely delivery of projects
• Oversee daily monitoring including editing daily report
• Participate in client’s plan presentations
• Manage specific projects that are part of a larger campaign
• Supervise junior staff to ensure they have a balanced workload and the information they need to complete are delivered on time
• Provide strong leadership, manage a team of juniors and motivate them in reaching specific objectives
• Own client relationships on specific projects
• Maintain day-to-day contact with the client on specific projects

F&B sector expertise:

• Establish and maintain positive relationships between various internal and external stakeholders including management, F&B sector Experts and tastemakers, clients, prospects and media in F&B sector
• Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness

Relevant skills/ aptitude

• Preferably Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications
• Minimum 2 to 3 years in PR positions within a PR agency or in-house environment; experience with F&B brands preferred
• Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets
• Solid understanding of PR and campaign planning
• Excellent understanding of traditional and social media channels
• Able to convincingly and methodically build media relationships
• Strong presentation skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilitiesConsistently meet standards and requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Arabic is a plus)
• Manage peers’ and clients’ expectations
• Demonstrate company’s values
