Position Overview

The role owns the AMET product safety risk position, determines how safety policies should be applied to regional regulatory requirements, and develops programs that protect customers while supporting responsible business growth.

Working across Selling Partner, Business, Legal, Customer Service, and Technology teams, the Senior Product Safety and Compliance Manager will assess high-risk product categories, evaluate product testing information, manage safety signals, and implement proportionate controls.

The position also represents Amazon directly with regulatory authorities and requires professional fluency in both Arabic and English.

Regional Product Safety Leadership

Own the regional product safety risk position across Amazon operations in AMET.
Ensure applicable product safety regulatory requirements are addressed across supply and customer operations.
Assess regional risks and determine appropriate controls for high-risk product categories.
Apply product safety policies according to regional risks and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate product test results and other available safety evidence.
Balance effective risk reduction with operational and business requirements.
Develop regional approaches that support consistent product safety management across Amazon stores.

Compliance Programs and Controls

Lead the review and localization of validation processes for newly onboarded and highly regulated products.
Design, implement, and maintain product safety processes across relevant business functions.
Work with classification and restriction databases used in product safety programs.
Define controls that respond proportionately to identified product risks.
Build scalable processes that support evolving regulatory and business requirements.
Use available data, metrics, and cross-functional resources to strengthen compliance programs.

Product Safety Issue Management

The role will investigate and coordinate responses to product safety signals arising from multiple sources. These may include customer complaints, customer reviews, internal follow-up actions, and product recall requests received from external bodies. The Senior Product Safety and Compliance Manager will evaluate the nature and severity of identified risks, coordinate with relevant teams, and determine appropriate actions to protect customers and maintain regulatory compliance.

Regulatory Engagement

Collaborate directly with regulatory authorities across the AMET region.
Support the development of appropriate product safety schemes for regional Amazon stores.
Interpret regional regulatory requirements in the context of Amazon 's product safety programs.
Represent Amazon in product safety and compliance discussions with external authorities.
Coordinate internally with Legal and other stakeholders when addressing regulatory matters.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Product safety requires close coordination across commercial, operational, legal, customer, and technical functions. The role will work with Selling Partner, Business, Legal, Customer Service, and Technology teams to ensure product safety requirements are understood and incorporated into relevant processes. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve complex risk questions, and influence stakeholders across a fast-moving regional organization.

A Day in the Life

Daily work centers on ensuring products offered to customers across Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye meet applicable safety requirements. This includes investigating higher-risk product categories, reviewing safety signals, assessing regulatory considerations, and determining suitable risk controls. The role combines independent risk judgement with cross-functional collaboration and direct regulatory engagement. Fluency in Arabic and English is required to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities across the region.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor 's degree or equivalent.
6 years of program or project management experience.
Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Fluency in Arabic and English.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk-loss prevention, or an equivalent field.
3 years of experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements.
Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials.
Experience with SQL and Microsoft Excel.
