Role Description:
This position is for an in vitro/in vivo Associate Scientist reporting to the Senior Director of Pharmacology. We seek an enthusiastic, collaborative individual with strong scientific rigor and excellent communication skills to support our drug discovery programs. Initially, the position will have a strong focus on planning and executing cell-based screening assays to support lead selection, as well as in vitro and ex vivo studies to characterize mechanism of action and pharmacodynamic properties of drug candidates. The successful candidate should expect to routinely perform cell culture and conduct experiments using western blotting, flow cytometry, and plate-based assays.
As the role develops, supporting the in vivo pharmacology team will become an integral component, including assistance with animal tumor studies including dosing and injections, sample collection and processing, and downstream analysis. Prior hands-on in vivo experience is preferred but not required for a candidate who demonstrates a strong willingness to be trained and develop these skills. Strong data analysis, interpretation, presentation, and record-keeping skills will be essential. This is a full-time laboratory position located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
