Senior well intervention engineer

1- HSE commitment applying NOC Golden rules, ensuring incident free operations with associated job
planning & execution.
2- Extent by which the job is constrained by policy / procedure / instruction: All tasks to be adhering to NOC
HSE policies, procedures and CMS. Ensure that health, safety and environmental risks are assessed and
necessary measures taken to mitigate safety and health risks according to ALARP (As Low As Reasonably
Practical) principle.
3- Job characterization, stakes and the scale of human, financial, material or other resources:
- Volumetric data : more than 100 SL ops + 30 CT or E-line operation per year (well repairs + WO prep
+Prod-Optimization jobs).
- Financial figures : D&W Stock value is estimated to 118 M$, Well Intervention yearly budget 60 M$
- Production figures : position requires ensuring the well intervention engineering activity for ~ 400
active wells on 15 well platforms. Each platform undergoes a yearly well Intervention campaign.
- Human resources data : Subordinates reporting directly to you: nil (team of 3 Well Intervention
engineer) & Subordinates reporting indirectly to you: well Intervention supervisors & service Cie crews
(4 permanent SL package + 2 on call + 1 EL)

The job is to be mainly performed at the NOC Well Intervention offices in Doha; Occasional site visits on Al
Shaheen field or activities at logistics base or service providers bases.

Key Accountabilities

To plan, design and coordinate platform based well Intervention in order to optimize production and injection in
a safe and cost effective way. To provide technical support to CWI department in the fields of Well Intervention
and occasionally Completion for both equipment and services. To occasionally support the Drilling Department
through the tendering and procurement of equipment and services required for the execution of intervention
operations and ensure that the service quality received from contractors meets NOC operational requirements.

ACTIVITIES Writing of well intervention programs for safe, technically sound and cost efficient interventions. Manages contracts linked to Well Intervention activity. Ensure when planning and preparing platform operations including programme writing that all relevantparties are informed and involved as required prior to job initiation. Such parties are Petroleum Engineering, Production (on- and offshore), Well Interventions internally, various Contractors etc. Ensure that job programmes are prepared and distributed in due time according to Guidelines for Writing Programmes in Well Interventions Production Operations. Ensure that the Well Interventions offshore supervisors on the job are fully briefed about the job
programme and actively support the planned activities, including continuous information of programmechanges. Ensure good communication with Well Intervention offshore supervisors and other relevant partiesregarding results/ deviations from the original program. Communicate with the Well Intervention offshore supervisor what equipment needs to be back loaded or
sent to other destinations. Check and ensure that offshore reporting including NPT (Non Productive Time) is done correctly andadequately on a daily basis. Participate in meetings where relevant and required e.g. Well Intervention morning meeting, asset related
meetings, weekly meetings etc. Ensure that operational risks are assessed and that necessary measures taken to mitigate operational risks
and that contingencies have been evaluated and implemented. Coordinate personnel requirements within Well Intervention and with Contractors. Organize and arrange for necessary equipment and materials to be shipped offshore. Ensure that vital equipment consumed/installed/scrapped is reordered. File programs and other relevant information in the well file system. Upon completion of jobs, thoroughly discuss job with Well Intervention offshore supervisor to capture
lessons learnt with respect to safety, health and operational aspects. Ensure that lessons learnt with respect to safety, health and operational aspects are recorded and
forwarded for continuous improvement in:
o Technical memos including new technologies
o Reports including digital reporting
o Update of procedures and guidelines
o Future job programs
o Participation to any GHG reduction & energy efficiency initiative promoting a low carbon
culture within NOC Forward feedback on each contractor's performance to Head of Section in preparation for contractor
Service Quality meetings. Supports technically the selection of equipment used in well Intervention, occasionally in completion and
work-overs operations to ensure success of operation. Provides support and expertise for tenderers’ processes, including any pre-qualification exercises,
technical evaluations and obtains relevant management / tender board approvals. Competencies

Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent

Certification

IWCF level 4

Experience Extensive knowledge of well intervention (slick line, CT, pumping, treatments) equipment. technology and workflows. Knowledge of wells (completion) and workovers equipment. Fully autonomous. Knowledge of equipment requests and mobilization process. Ability to participate in CFT. 15 yrs in Oilfield – Offshore exposure 3yr min.
