Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Al-Rayyan This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Indian cuisine and a passion for creating innovative and mouth-watering dishes As Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee all aspects of the kitchen from menu planning to food preparation and presentation You will be responsible for managing a team of chefs and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role with a deep understanding of Indian cooking techniques and ingredients You must also have excellent leadership skills as well as strong communication and time management abilities

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items that showcase traditional Indian flavors with a modern twist
• Oversee food preparation and ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Train and manage kitchen staff including scheduling shifts delegating tasks and monitoring performance
• Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in the kitchen at all times
• Assist in costing menus and controlling food cost while maintaining quality standards
• Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations throughout the restaurant

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role preferably in a high-end restaurant setting
• Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine cooking techniques and ingredients
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
• Flexible schedule including weekends evenings and holidays as needed
• Must be physically able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
