Position: Spa Attendant

A. Job Purpose

To ensure the cleanliness, comfort, and smooth daily operation of the Spa and Fitness facilities while providing attentive and personalized service to all guests. The Spa Attendant is responsible for maintaining exceptional hygiene and presentation standards, assisting guests with their needs, and supporting the Spa team in delivering a relaxing and memorable wellness experience in accordance with The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort's luxury hospitality standards.

B. Job Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar position within a luxury hotel, spa, wellness center, or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and attentive approach.
• Excellent grooming and personal hygiene standards.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of spa facilities, wellness services, and hygiene practices is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of performing duties involving standing, walking, lifting supplies, and maintaining facilities.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays according to operational requirements.
• Ability to remain calm, efficient, and professional during busy periods.

C. Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Guest Assistance & Experience

• Warmly welcome and assist guests visiting the Spa and Fitness facilities.
• Provide clear and accurate information regarding spa facilities, amenities, and available services.
• Guide guests through the spa facilities, including changing rooms, lockers, relaxation areas, and other designated areas.
• Assist guests with lockers, towels, robes, slippers, and other spa amenities.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, discreet, and personalized service.
• Ensure guests feel comfortable, welcomed, and well cared for throughout their visit.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and requests.
• Handle minor guest concerns and report any complaints or issues to Spa Management.
• Respect guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain a calm, relaxing, and welcoming atmosphere within the Spa.

2. Spa Facility Cleanliness & Maintenance

• Ensure all spa facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
• Regularly clean, sanitize, and organize changing rooms, lockers, showers, restrooms, relaxation lounges, and other designated areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of treatment rooms before and after treatments, as required.
• Ensure all guest amenities, towels, robes, slippers, and toiletries are properly arranged and replenished.
• Conduct regular inspections of spa facilities to ensure they remain clean, organized, and guest-ready.
• Monitor the cleanliness of wet areas, including steam rooms, saunas, Hammam areas, and other facilities, where applicable.
• Promptly report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Ensure all cleaning materials and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Support the preparation and presentation of spa facilities before opening and after closing.

3. Laundry & Linen Management

• Collect, sort, and organize used towels, robes, linens, and other spa laundry items.
• Coordinate with the Laundry Department to ensure the timely collection and delivery of clean linens.
• Maintain adequate levels of fresh towels, robes, and linens throughout the day.
• Ensure clean linens are properly folded, stored, and presented according to spa standards.
• Monitor linen conditions and report damaged or stained items.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and inform supervisors when replenishment is required.
• Ensure proper separation and handling of clean and used linens in accordance with hygiene standards.

4. Stock & Supplies Management

• Monitor and replenish spa amenities, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other operational materials.
• Maintain organized and properly stocked storage areas.
• Assist with inventory checks and stock counts as required.
• Report low stock levels, missing items, or damaged supplies to the Spa Supervisor.
• Ensure all supplies are used responsibly to minimize waste.
• Support the proper storage and handling of spa products and equipment.

5. Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Strictly follow all hotel and spa hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety procedures.
• Ensure spa facilities remain safe, clean, and comfortable for guests and colleagues.
• Follow established procedures for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting designated areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to hotel guidelines.
• Identify and immediately report potential hazards, accidents, or unsafe conditions.
• Ensure wet floors and slippery surfaces are appropriately managed to prevent accidents.
• Maintain awareness of emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and safety protocols.
• Follow the hotel's grooming, personal hygiene, and appearance standards.
• Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and hotel policies.

6. Communication & Team Collaboration

• Maintain effective communication with Spa Receptionists, Spa Therapists, Fitness colleagues, and Spa Management.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure facilities are prepared and ready for guest use.
• Support Spa Therapists in preparing treatment rooms and replenishing necessary amenities.
• Communicate guest requests, preferences, and concerns to the appropriate colleagues.
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Laundry, Engineering, and other departments when required.
• Maintain positive and respectful relationships with guests and colleagues.
• Participate in departmental briefings, meetings, and training sessions.
• Demonstrate teamwork and flexibility in supporting daily spa operations.

7. Daily Spa Operations

• Report for duty punctually, properly groomed, and wearing the designated uniform.
• Complete assigned opening and closing procedures according to departmental standards.
• Follow daily operational checklists and ensure assigned tasks are completed on time.
• Regularly inspect spa facilities to maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness.
• Assist in preparing guest areas and treatment rooms according to operational requirements.
• Ensure guest amenities and supplies are available throughout operating hours.
• Support the smooth operation of Spa and Fitness facilities during busy periods.
• Maintain a professional and discreet presence in guest areas.
• Report operational concerns, unusual incidents, or guest feedback to the Spa Supervisor.
• Remain informed about spa services, facilities, promotions, and operational updates.

8. Guest Service Standards

• Consistently deliver courteous, professional, and attentive service in accordance with The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort's standards.
• Demonstrate a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and comfort.
• Anticipate guest requirements and respond proactively whenever possible.
• Maintain a respectful and professional approach when interacting with guests from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Handle guest belongings carefully and follow established lost-and-found procedures.
• Ensure guest privacy, dignity, and comfort are respected in all spa areas.
• Contribute to creating a peaceful and luxurious spa environment.

9. General Responsibilities

• Comply with all hotel policies, procedures, and Standards of Performance.
• Demonstrate the values, service culture, and professional standards of The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort.
• Maintain flexibility in working hours and assigned duties according to operational needs.
• Participate in relevant training and development activities to continuously improve performance.
• Handle hotel property, equipment, and supplies with care and responsibility.
• Support other Spa and Wellness operational areas when required and appropriately trained.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Spa Director, Assistant Spa Director, or Spa Supervisor.
