Job Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role is suited to a database professional with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration, enterprise database management, performance optimization, and cloud migration projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining database reliability, optimizing performance, managing backup and disaster recovery processes, and supporting database upgrades and cloud migration initiatives. Experience with large databases, high-availability environments, and cloud database platforms is important for this position.

Professionals with a background in Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, and database performance tuning can further develop their expertise in enterprise database architecture, cloud technologies, and database administration. The Microsoft DP-300 certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
• Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups and clustering solutions.
• Implement and maintain database backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization for databases exceeding 1 TB.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize T-SQL queries and database scripts.
• Use PowerShell to automate database administration and maintenance tasks.
• Support cloud database migration projects involving Azure SQL and Amazon RDS.
• Maintain database availability, reliability, and operational stability.
• Collaborate with technical teams to support enterprise database requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in SQL Server database administration.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and upgrades.
• Practical experience with Always On, clustering, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Strong T-SQL and PowerShell skills.
• Experience with performance tuning for databases larger than 1 TB.
• Exposure to Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, and cloud migration projects.
• Microsoft DP-300 certification is preferred.
• Exposure to Oracle, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
