An established Ultra-High-Net-Worth Family Office in Midtown is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its collaborative accounting team. This role offers broad exposure to family office bookkeeping, cash management, investment activity, and multi-entity accounting within a stable and highly professional environment. This newly created role is due to the firm's continued growth.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting monthly financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career accounting professional who has exposure to either real estate or high net worth accounting and enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable working in a confidential UHNW environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the day-to-day accounting records for the family office and its related entities
• Prepare recurring entries and ensure financial activity is reflected accurately within the general ledger
• Review account activity, research discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments
• Handle the accounting and documentation associated with checks, wire transfers, deposits, and other cash movements
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank and related financial accounts
• Review transaction support and assign expenses and other activity to the appropriate accounts
• Organize and update records associated with partnership investments and K-1 reporting
• Participate in the monthly reporting cycle, including close support, account schedules, and financial statement preparation
• Maintain complete and easily accessible electronic files for financial documents and supporting materials
• Assist with customized reports, account research, and special projects as requested
• Communicate with internal team members and other stakeholders to address accounting questions and information requests in a timely manner

Requirements

• 1-2 years of relevant bookkeeping, accounting, or family office support experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Prior experience working with HNW / UHNW individuals, a family office, real estate firm, or CPA firm with real estate or HNW clients required
• Sound understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation
• Experience with investment activity, partnership accounting, trusts, real estate, or multiple related entities is beneficial
• Familiarity with Yardi Voyager is strongly preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Resourceful, proactive, and hands-on, with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed
• Strong judgment, discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential family office matters

Salary : $80k–$90k base, plus bonus and strong benefits.
