Switchgear Warranty Service Coordinator

HICO America, headquartered in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with facilities in Los Angeles, Greensburg, PA, and Memphis TN, is part of the Power Systems business unit, in the Industrial Performance Group of the Hyosung Corporation, a large publicly traded corporation based in Seoul, South Korea. The Switchgear Warranty Service Coordinator will assist in responsibility for ensuring that warranty claims and field service orders are evaluated, negotiated, and settled in support GIS product offerings as well as other product lines as needed. The selected candidate will work with the Warranty Service Manager as well as various departments including but not limited to; engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, field service supervisors, legal to ensure the overall claim is resolved per the contract agreements and to satisfaction of the customer. This position will process warranty claims and coordinate planned maintenance work and requires excellent customer and communication skills to our strategic partners. This position will work closely with the HICO project managers and their respective customers and communicates with all levels of the organization regarding status and progress of active claims and field service work.

The Switchgear Warranty Service Coordinator evaluates the accuracy of the claims and coordinates the resolution of said claims to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained, contractual obligations are upheld, and costs are minimized. This position will review, plan, and coordinate the warranty resolution plan and will provide status updates to the customer, HICO Project Manager, and other project stakeholders, as necessary.

• Ensure all warranty and service activities comply with applicable contractual agreements, company procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate communication across all organizational levels to ensure alignment on claim status, customer expectations, and project deliverables.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to enhance warranty claim management, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and strategic business partners to promote positive service outcomes
• Maintain accurate records of warranty claims, service orders, customer communications, and resolution outcomes within company systems.
• Analyze warranty-related data and documentation to identify root causes, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
• Will accept relevant work experience in lieu of engineering degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a technical field service/ warranty service role.
• Knowledge within the Microsoft Office Suite (Including Excel, Teams, and Power Point)
• Ability to decipher and analyze engineering drawings and schematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within the utility or renewable power industry.
• Experience working with SAP software.

Requirements:

• Up to 10% travel on an annual basis is typical.
• Ability to travel by plane is required.
