KBCTest Technologies is actively seeking a skilled, proactive, and motivated System Administrator Server with a strong background in server administration and desktop/mobile application environments to join our team in Qatar on a contract basis. In this critical infrastructure and application management role, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining server infrastructure, managing user permissions, ensuring optimal system performance, and supporting desktop and mobile application deployments across diverse platforms. You will leverage your deep practical expertise in Windows Server, Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking concepts to maintain uncompromised system reliability and data security.
Detailed Job Description
As a System Administrator Server supporting technology operations in Qatar via KBCTest Technologies, you will take full operational ownership of server environments, virtualization clusters, and application support workflows. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, implementing reliability enhancements, and managing user accounts, access controls, and security permissions. You will collaborate closely with software development teams to support seamless application deployments, execute regular data backups and disaster recovery operations, and maintain comprehensive system configuration documentation. Furthermore, you will provide end-user technical support and training on desktop and mobile applications while staying abreast of emerging server administration technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain core server infrastructure, Windows Server, and Linux environments to ensure optimal uptime and security.
- Monitor system performance metrics, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and implement proactive performance tuning.
- Manage user accounts, directory permissions, access controls, and security policies for all corporate server resources.
- Collaborate with development teams to support deployment, integration, and maintenance of desktop and mobile applications.
- Perform regular data backups, verify integrity, and execute disaster recovery operations to safeguard critical information.
- Document system configurations, deployment processes, operational procedures, and server architecture blueprints.
- Stay updated with latest industry trends, security best practices, and technological advancements in server administration.
- Provide expert technical support and end-user training for desktop and mobile applications across various platforms.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional working experience in system administration, with a strong focus on server environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of desktop and mobile applications, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in enterprise server operating systems, specifically Windows Server and Linux distributions.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisors (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with core networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Mandatory eligibility to work in Qatar with availability for on-site operations.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Prior professional experience managing cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for administrative task automation.
- Comprehensive understanding of enterprise cybersecurity best practices, hardening standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience configuring and managing enterprise monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus) and log analyzers.
