About the role:

The Team Lead - Trade Operations oversees daily post-trade activities across multiple asset classes and custodial relationships for Opteamix’s wealth management client. This role includes direct management of trade capture, allocation, confirmation, affirmation, reconciliation, and settlement, as well as team supervision, client coordination, control management, and accountability for service delivery. The team lead also handles complex exceptions, monitors performance, develops team capabilities, and drives process improvements and automation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Trade operations leadership : Lead daily trade operations for equities, fixed income, and options. Ensure accurate processing in CRIMS, validate compliance, manage routing, allocation, confirmation, affirmation, and ensure timely settlement.
• Team management and development : Allocate work, set priorities, monitor productivity and quality, and provide coaching to build team capability. Conduct regular reviews, address performance gaps, and ensure adequate coverage for critical processes.
• Custodian and prime broker coordination : Act as senior operational contact for Pershing, Fidelity, Schwab, and Goldman Sachs. Oversee prime brokerage and trade-away settlements, resolve complex failed trades and mismatched instructions, and escalate material issues as needed.
• Settlement, reconciliation, and risk control : Oversee DTCC and Omgeo workflows and daily reconciliation of trades, cash, and positions. Review exceptions, resolve them promptly, maintain accurate records, and document outcomes for audit and compliance.
• Service delivery and client coordination : Track service-level agreements, key performance indicators, volumes, breaks, aging items, and operational risks. Provide clear status reporting, lead operational reviews, and coordinate timely communication and escalation with client stakeholders.
• Controls, process improvement, and change : Maintain standard operating procedures, strengthen controls, and support audit and compliance requirements. Collaborate with trading and technology teams to automate workflows, reduce manual touchpoints, support custodian onboarding and system integrations, and prepare for industry changes.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of hands-on trade operations experience supporting a U.S.-based registered investment adviser (RIA), asset manager, hedge fund, broker-dealer, investment management organization, or financial services client through a consulting or professional services organization.
• Demonstrated experience leading trade operations teams, including work allocation, team coaching, escalation management, and meeting service-level commitments.
• Experience with CRIMS and one or more custodian or prime brokerage platforms, including Pershing, Fidelity, Schwab, or Goldman Sachs, along with strong knowledge of DTCC and Omgeo workflows.
• Strong understanding of equities, fixed income, and options trade lifecycles, including settlement, clearing, custody, reconciliation, and exception management.
• Proven ability to resolve complex settlement issues, manage operational risk, analyze performance data, enhance controls, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in trading, compliance, finance, and technology.
• Experience with workflow automation, system integration, vendor management, T+1 settlement, or similar industry initiatives.
• A Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 or Series 99 license.
