Territory Sales Representative (East Coast)

Public Safety · Field Sales · Remote (East-Coast-Based)

Full-Time · Up to 50% Travel · Must reside within assigned territory

WHO IS ABEL?

Abel is the AI toolkit for law enforcement — purpose-built to give officers their time back. Our

platform includes Abel Writer , which turns body camera footage and officer-provided material into

completed police reports, with an Investigator Mode for long-form interviews; Abel Chat , a

CJIS-compliant assistant grounded in agency policy manuals and state code that answers with cited

sources; Abel Translate , live in-field translation across 83 languages; and Abel Citizen , an online

reporting portal that lets residents file reports that land in the RMS clean, translated, and

NIBRS-ready.

Patrol officers spend roughly one-third of every shift writing reports. Abel eliminates that burden.

Early adopters at the Richmond PD completed five reports in under an hour using Abel — a task

that previously consumed most of a shift. Officers and administrators describe Abel as a

need-to-have, not a nice-to-have.

Backed by Y Combinator, Day One Ventures, and Long Journey Ventures and already deployed in

over 50 agencies nationwide, Abel is growing fast. We're looking for mission-driven sales

professionals to bring this technology to law enforcement agencies across the country.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you a self-motivated outside sales professional who wants to make a real impact while building

a strong book of business? If you thrive in a competitive, fast-paced, mission-driven environment,

this is a career-defining opportunity.

Abel is adding Territory Sales Representatives to its growing law enforcement sales team. You will

own a defined geographic territory end-to-end — from demand generation and agency outreach

through product demos, proposal, and close. You will be the face of Abel in your region, building

deep relationships with police chiefs, sheriffs, and command staff while solving one of law

enforcement's most persistent operational problems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, product demos, proposals, negotiation, and

close

• Generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, law enforcement referrals, conference

attendance, and regional agency relationships

• Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets

• Build trusted relationships with decision-makers — chiefs, sheriffs, undersheriffs, command

staff, and administrative leadership

• Deliver compelling, customized product demonstrations that connect Abel's capabilities to

each agency's specific operational challenges

• Maintain accurate pipeline data and CRM hygiene; provide reliable forecasts to your

leadership team

• Represent Abel at regional law enforcement conferences, trade shows, and association

events

• Serve as the voice of the customer internally — surface agency feedback to product and

leadership teams

YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS

Abel is a results-oriented culture. We use 90-day plans because good days lead to good weeks,

which lead to good months. Here's what to expect:

Days 1–30: Learn

• Complete Abel product and platform certification — become an expert in Writer, Chat, and

Citizen products.

• Study your territory: map existing customers, understand the agency landscape, and identify

priority targets

• Shadow VP of Growth on discovery calls and live demos; learn the Abel pitch and objection

playbook

• Begin active outbound prospecting via calls, emails, conference follow-ups, and LE referrals

Days 31–60: Build

• Conduct your first independent product demos

• Build 16+ qualified opportunities in the CRM pipeline

• Set up weekly 1:1s with the VP of Growth and join bi-weekly cross-functional syncs

Days 61–90: Close

• Close your first deal

• Establish a repeatable outbound motion tailored to your territory's dynamics

• Build relationships with regional law enforcement associations and key referral sources

• Present a 6-month territory plan and pipeline outlook to the VP of Growth and CEO

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3–7 years of full-cycle, outside/field sales experience; public safety, government, or SaaS

technology sales strongly preferred

• Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota within a defined territory

• Self-starter mentality — you take initiative, stay organized, and produce results with minimal

hand-holding

• Prior experience selling to law enforcement, municipal government, or mission-critical verticals

is a significant advantage

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident and credible in front of

command-staff audiences

• Comfortable building the playbook in a startup environment — adaptable, resourceful, and

growth-oriented

• CRM proficiency (HubSpot or Salesforce preferred) with strong pipeline hygiene

• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory during peak seasons

• Must reside within the assigned territory

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Abel compensates its team competitively. Specific ranges are discussed transparently during the

first conversation.

• Competitive OTE with uncapped commission — your earnings scale with your results

• Stock options — every Abel employee is an owner

• Comprehensive medical and dental coverage

• Flexible PTO — we trust our team to manage their time

• Company-covered travel expenses for territory activity

HOW WE HIRE

We respect your time and move with urgency. Here's our process:

1. Chief of Staff Intro Call — We learn about your background and what you're looking for, and

we share more about Abel.

2. VP of Growth Interview — A deep dive into the role, the territory, expectations, and what

success looks like at Abel.

3. Territory & Skills Assessment — A practical exercise to demonstrate your sales approach

and territory planning thinking.
