Our client is seeking an experienced Virtualization Architect to design, implement, and operate enterprise-grade virtualization platforms, with a strong focus on Nutanix technologies. The role will be responsible for building highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient virtualization environments across hybrid and multi-cloud platforms, including active active datacenter architectures, software-defined networking, disaster recovery, and centralized infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities Virtualization Architecture & Design
- Design and maintain enterprise virtualization architecture standards, with a primary focus on Nutanix platforms.
- Define architecture blueprints covering compute, storage, virtualization, and software defined networking components.
- Ensure virtualization designs meet requirements for scalability, performance, security, availability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in architecture reviews and ensure solutions align with enterprise technology standards.
- Design resilient virtualization architectures supporting business-critical workloads and enterprise applications.
Nutanix Platform Leadership
- Lead the design, deployment, and operation of Nutanix AHV, AOS, Prism Central, and related platforms.
- Provide hands on expertise in Nutanix cluster architecture, configuration, lifecycle management, upgrades, and optimization.
- Ensure optimal performance, capacity utilization, availability, and resilience of Nutanix infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain standards for Nutanix platform deployment and operations.
- Troubleshoot complex Nutanix infrastructure and virtualization issues.
Hybrid & Multi-CloudVirtualization
- Design and support hybrid and multi-cloud virtualization environments.
- Integrate on premises virtualization platforms with public cloud services where required.
- Support cloud adjacent and cloud integrated workloads across enterprise environments.
- Ensure seamless integration between on premises virtualization infrastructure and cloud platforms.
- Contribute to cloud transformation and virtualization modernization initiatives.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
- Design and operate highly available virtualization platforms, including active-active data center architectures and metro-cluster environments.
- Design and implement synchronous and asynchronous replication strategies for business critical workloads.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity architectures.
- Plan, execute, and document DR tests, failover scenarios, and recovery procedures.
- Ensure infrastructure meets defined availability, recovery, and resilience requirements.
Software-Defined Networking & Security
- Design and operate software defined networking solutions within virtualized and Nutanix environments.
- Implement secure network segmentation, traffic management, and network resiliency.
- Apply micro segmentation, zero trust, and defense in depth security principles.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure secure and resilient virtualization environments.
- Troubleshoot complex virtualization networking and connectivity issues.
Centralized Infrastructure Management & Automation
- Implement and maintain centralized management, monitoring, and automation platforms.
- Provide unified visibility across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and disaster recovery layers.
- Develop operational dashboards, alerts, and infrastructure performance KPIs.
- Contribute to automation initiatives that improve infrastructure efficiency and operational consistency.
Operations, Monitoring & Optimization
- Ensure the stability, availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Conduct capacity planning, performance analysis, resource optimization, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify performance and capacity risks.
- Lead root cause analysis for complex infrastructure incidents.
- Drive continuous service improvement and operational optimization.
Project Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Lead virtualization initiatives end-to-end, including new platform deployments, upgrades, migrations, consolidations, and technology refreshes.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to infrastructure engineers during implementation and operations.
- Develop standard operating procedures, technical documentation, architecture standards, and operational guidelines
- Coordinate technical activities across infrastructure, network, storage, security, and application teams.
- Support vendors and technology partners during implementation, troubleshooting, and support engagements.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with network, storage, security, database, application, and cloud teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
- Translate complex technical requirements into practical architecture and implementation solutions.
- Present technical designs, risks, dependencies, and operational considerations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Act as a technical point of contact for virtualization architecture, infrastructure projects, and platform-related initiatives.

- 8-10 years of experience in enterprise virtualization, infrastructure, or related technology environments.
- Strong hands on experience designing, deploying, and operating Nutanix platforms in production environments.
- Proven experience with Nutanix AHV, AOS, Prism Central, and Nutanix lifecycle management.
- Strong experience designing and operating active-active data center architectures and metro-cluster environments.
- Solid experience with hyperconverged infrastructure, hybrid virtualization, and multi-cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, replication, and DR orchestration.
- Hands on experience with software defined networking, virtualization networking, and infrastructure security.
- Strong understanding of micro segmentation, network resiliency, and security controls within virtualized environments.
- Experience with centralized infrastructure monitoring, management, automation, and capacity planning.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer infrastructure and virtualization issues.
- Strong understanding of enterprise compute, storage, networking, and virtualization architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
