Detailed Job Description:
As a VMware Architect supporting advanced cloud infrastructure initiatives in Abu Dhabi via 3i Infotech, you will take full operational, tactical, and strategic ownership of enterprise virtualization architectures, software-defined data center (SDDC) deployments, and multi-cloud migration execution. Your day-to-day responsibilities include architecting high-availability VMware vSphere clusters, managing software-defined storage (vSAN) and software-defined networking (NSX), and executing complex physical-to-virtual (P2V) and virtual-to-virtual (V2V) cloud migrations utilizing HCX, Azure VMware Solution (AVS), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will drive infrastructure automation using PowerCLI and Ansible, establish rigorous security compliance frameworks, and collaborate closely with client stakeholders and enterprise engineering teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade VMware private-cloud solutions and software-defined data center (SDDC) infrastructures.
- Oversee core VMware virtualization stacks including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX for high availability and performance optimization.
- Plan and execute complex P2V, V2V, and multi-cloud migrations leveraging VMware HCX, Azure VMware Solution (AVS), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Develop and implement robust infrastructure automation, scripting, and configuration management workflows using PowerCLI and Ansible.
- Conduct rigorous capacity planning, performance tuning, health checks, and architectural audits across virtualized environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with enterprise security teams, network engineers, and client stakeholders on cloud migration strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with enterprise security baselines, disaster recovery protocols, and high-availability SLAs.
- Maintain meticulous technical documentation, reference architectures, migration runbooks, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive professional experience in IT infrastructure, enterprise virtualization, and cloud architecture.
- Mandatory active VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) certification (higher VCAP/VCIX credentials preferred).
- Deep practical expertise in VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX implementation and administration.
- Extensive hands‑on experience executing P2V/V2V and hybrid cloud migrations using HCX, AVS, OCI, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong programming and automation proficiency in PowerShell PowerCLI and Ansible.
- Excellent leadership, cross-functional communication, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Mandatory legal eligibility to work in the United Arab Emirates with local residency and availability for on-site operations in Abu Dhabi.
