The VRF Technician is responsible for the installation operation preventive maintenance troubleshooting repair and servicing of VRF VRV air-conditioning systems and associated equipment The technician must ensure HVAC systems operate safely efficiently and reliably while responding promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests
Key Responsibilities Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of VRF VRV air-conditioning systems Inspect and maintain outdoor units indoor units compressors inverter systems expansion valves control boards sensors and associated components Check operating pressures temperatures refrigerant levels current draw voltage and system performance Clean and service filters coils drain pans blower assemblies and other components Check refrigerant piping insulation joints valves and connections for leaks or damage Ensure proper drainage and inspect condensate drain lines and pumps Diagnose and rectify VRF system faults and breakdowns Identify electrical mechanical refrigerant communication and control-system faults Use manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools and error codes to identify system problems Troubleshoot communication errors between indoor and outdoor units Check and replace defective sensors PCBs fans compressors expansion valves capacitors contactors and other components as required Carry out refrigerant leak testing evacuation vacuuming charging recovery and system commissioning in accordance with approved procedures Diagnose sensor and communication faults Interface with BMS or centralized HVAC control systems where applicable ITI / Diploma / Trade Certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years of relevant HVAC experience, with strong hands‑on experience in VRF/VRV systems. Experience with major VRF/VRV brands is preferred. Experience in commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, facilities management, residential towers, or large-scale projects is an advantage.
