Managing Attorney, Workers Compensation
Our client is a 100 person plaintiff law firm based on Long Island. They have an immediate need for a new Managing Attorney for their Workers' Compensation team.
Ideally, we are looking for someone comfortable settling cases, handling hearings, depositions and posses knowledge of Section 32s and settlements. This role supervises a 5 person Workers Compensation Team (2 Attorney). This plaintiff firm specializes in Personal Injury, WC, Construction Accidents and No Fault.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team responsible for a caseload of plaintiff-side New York Workers’ Compensation matters from inception through resolution.
- Represent injured workers at Workers’ Compensation Board hearings and conferences.
- Prepare and present cases involving workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, permanency, schedule loss of use, medical treatment, and lost wages.
- Review medical records and evaluate the impact of injuries on clients’ ability to work.
- Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense counsel regarding benefits and case resolution.
- Develop case strategy and advise clients regarding their rights and available benefits.
- Communicate regularly with clients and provide clear, compassionate legal guidance.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, applications, appeals, and other necessary legal documents.
- Collaborate with support staff and medical professionals to develop strong cases.
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
This role is paying 230k-250k
