The Business Analyst will support practices through market research, competitive intelligence and data analysis. This role will monitor client, prospect and market developments to identify business development opportunities and provide actionable insights to attorneys and senior business development professionals.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, analytical, detail-oriented and able to communicate complex information clearly in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market, company, industry and competitive intelligence research to support business development initiatives.
- Monitor clients, prospects, competitors and relevant market developments to identify opportunities and trends.
- Analyze internal and external data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Support pitches, client opportunities, strategic planning and other attorney-facing projects.
- Develop and maintain research alerts, prospecting trackers and other BD resources.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Business Intelligence and other firmwide teams on research and strategic initiatives.
- Develop knowledge of the firm’s practices, clients, matters, competitors and market position.
- Utilize internal databases, external research platforms and emerging AI tools to enhance research and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2–4 years of experience in business development, competitive intelligence, market research, data analysis or a related field.
- Legal or professional services experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong research, analytical, critical-thinking and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong judgment, discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Collaborative, proactive and intellectually curious approach.
- Familiarity with legal, financial, company or market intelligence platforms preferred.
- Interest in using AI and emerging technologies to improve research and business development effectiveness.
Compensation: $125,000 annually, plus bonus
