Our CEO currently runs field operations himself. He's good at it. That's the problem.
We're at $30M across 60–70 active custom pool and outdoor living projects in Southern California, and we're planning to double. Every PM hire, every subcontractor decision, every escalation still routes through one person. That ceiling is the only thing standing between us and the next three markets.
We're hiring the person who removes it.
What you'd actually run:
6–7 project managers, 3 field ops admins, 60–70 active projects from $100K to $3M. Full authority to hire and fire. Accountable for margin, schedule, quality, and client experience.
What you'd actually build:
New regional offices — San Jose, San Francisco, and beyond. In each one you recruit the PMs, build the subcontractor base from zero, and run the market yourself until the team can hold it without you. Then you do it again.
The real skill:
Knowing where you're needed. A seasoned PM on a standard job doesn't need you. A new crew attempting their first rim flow does. So does plumbing inspection before shotcrete on a sunken pit. Allocating your own attention correctly is the job — if you need a schedule to tell you where to be, this isn't it.
Who this is for:
You're running field ops somewhere right now — pools, landscape, restoration, roofing, solar, HVAC, production homebuilding. You've owned a P&L of $15M+. You've built a sub network from nothing in a market where you knew no one. You've fired a PM who wasn't working out and hired a better one.
Pool experience is a plus, not a requirement. We can teach the product. We can't teach judgment.
Comp: $180K–$250K base, uncapped quarterly bonus tied to margin, on-time completion, and five-star reviews. Company truck, relocation assistance, health, dental, 401(k).
Open to candidates nationwide. Relocation assistance provided.
