Insight Global is a Building Services Engineering Manager for a client in the West Palm Beach area. This role provides technical and operational leadership for the electrical engineering function, overseeing the design, coordination, and delivery of complex building systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, renewable energy, fire alarm, communications, security, and other low-voltage systems.
The position is responsible for ensuring all electrical designs meet applicable codes, client requirements, industry standards, and quality expectations through detailed review of engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, studies, and construction documents. In addition to managing the workload, staffing, and performance of the electrical team, the role supports project execution by collaborating with project managers, monitoring schedules and budgets, and ensuring deliverables are completed efficiently and accurately. The individual also leads quality assurance efforts, provides construction-phase technical support, develops and maintains engineering standards and best practices, and mentors’ engineers, designers, and technical staff to strengthen departmental capabilities. Furthermore, the position contributes to business development activities by supporting proposals, developing technical scopes and cost estimates, and fostering strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future projects and growth.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-8-10 years’ experience within Electrical Engineering in a MEP consulting environment. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
-Active Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT in state of FL. If PE in another state, able to obtain Florida PE within first year of employment
-Experience managing electrical engineering staff, designers, CADD/BIM technicians, and discipline production workflows.
-Ability to serve as Engineer of Record with signing and sealing responsibilities for electrical engineering projects.
- Willingness to travel for site surveys, project scope walks and meetings, about 30% of the time.
