Job Title: Instrumentation Technician Location:Qatar We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, repair, test, and troubleshoot a wide range of electronic and instrumentation systems in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate will support day-to-day maintenance operations, preventive maintenance activities, commissioning support, and reporting across critical building and facility systems.
Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of instrumentation and electronic control systems Review incoming maintenance requests and execute work in line with approved procedures and technical standards Support preventive maintenance programs to improve reliability, availability, and operational efficiency Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems, then perform functional testing before reinstating equipment Participate in commissioning and snagging activities for new and modified systems Review drawings, evaluate systems, and support the preparation of work reports and technical records Assist with annual spare parts planning, consumables review, and test equipment requirements Inspect delivered materials and spare parts on site and support stock control activities Supervise technicians and contractors during maintenance or project work when required Ensure safe working practices, permit‑to‑work compliance, and good housekeeping at all times Contribute to daily reports, equipment failure reports, incident reports, and recommendations for recurring issues Support modifications, upgrades, plant changes, and testing/commissioning of updated systems Assist in maintaining records for work performed, work in progress, timesheets, material usage, and repairs
Building Management Systems (BMS) Fire Alarm Systems Access Control Systems Chiller Management Systems PLC / SCADA based systems Low voltage systems Pressure, temperature, flow, and level instrumentation Control valves and actuators Recorders and analyzers PROFIBUS-based field instrumentation devices and controllers SMATV systems Laboratory gas leak detection systems LPG leak detection systems Other related instrumentation and electronic devices
Completion of secondary education At least 3 years apprenticeship training leading to a certificate or diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Computer Applications Minimum 6 years of experience in installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of instrumentation and electronic equipment Experience in large-scale environments such as Education City, healthcare facilities, or industrial complexes Strong working knowledge of PLC, Fire Alarm Systems, BMS Systems, Chiller Controls, and PROFIBUS-based instrumentation Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand technical manuals Computer literacy with good knowledge of MS Office
Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding skills Good understanding of preventive maintenance procedures Familiarity with CAFM systems Awareness of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 requirements Ability to work effectively with contractors, technicians, and supervisors in a team environment
Strong technical discipline and safe working attitude Good reporting and documentation skills Ability to work under pressure and resolve non‑routine issues with supervisor guidance Commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement
