Manager, Investment Accounting & Performance (Family Office) - Coral Gables, FL
Our client, an established private investment/family office, is looking to add a Manager, Investment Accounting & Performance to its team in Coral Gables. This is a highly visible role supporting a sophisticated investment portfolio across a broad range of alternative investment strategies and structures. The Manager will oversee investment accounting, performance reporting, portfolio operations, and cash activity while serving as a key point of contact with external administrators, custodians, and investment advisors.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee investment-related activities performed by the outsourced administrator, ensuring transactions, valuations, and performance data are accurate and timely
- Review investment accounting and performance reporting across a diverse portfolio of alternative investments
- Monitor investment performance calculations and review investment fund financial statements
- Oversee investment-related cash activity, reconciliations, asset transfers, and account openings/closures
- Partner with custodians, investment advisors, and external service providers on portfolio operations
- Participate in quarterly and ad-hoc meetings with outside investment advisors
- Support the annual audit and oversee the collection and organization of investment-related tax documents, including K-1s and 1099s
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, systems, and controls
- Leverage data analytics, financial systems, automation, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and scalability
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, investment performance, and/or investment operations
- Strong experience with alternative investments, including open- and closed-end funds, SMAs, and multiple investment strategies
- Strong understanding of investment transactions, valuations, accounting, and performance reporting
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion
- Proactive, hands-on approach and comfortable working in a small, collaborative environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; Power BI is a plus
$150K - $200K depending on experience.
