Abu Dhabi continues to offer opportunities for experienced mechanical maintenance professionals in industrial manufacturing and production environments. A current requirement for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician is suitable for candidates with around 5 years of hands-on experience in maintaining CNC machines, industrial machinery, rotating equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Position: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Experience: 5 years
Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification
Language: English
The position is focused on maintaining production equipment and ensuring that machinery operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. Candidates with practical industrial maintenance experience and strong troubleshooting skills may be suitable for this opportunity.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of CNC machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), and associated production equipment. The role requires practical knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to identify and resolve equipment problems.
Key responsibilities include mechanical installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial machinery. The technician will work to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous production operations.
Hands-on experience with CNC machinery is an important requirement for this position. The technician should understand common mechanical problems associated with CNC equipment and be capable of carrying out inspections and corrective maintenance.
Maintenance activities may include checking spindle assemblies, bearings, ball screws, linear guideways, gearboxes, couplings, and machine tool mechanisms. Proper inspection and timely replacement of worn components can help prevent unexpected machine failures.
Knowledge of tool changers, pallet changers, chucks, and fixtures is also valuable because these components directly affect machine operation and production efficiency.
The role requires practical experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment used in industrial machinery. The technician may be required to inspect components, identify leaks or pressure-related problems, and perform necessary repairs.
Understanding valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, pumps, actuators, and associated mechanical components can help technicians troubleshoot production equipment effectively.
Preventive maintenance is an important part of this position. Regular inspection and servicing of machinery can help identify potential failures before they result in production downtime.
The technician may perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, component checks, alignment inspections, and replacement of worn parts. Corrective maintenance will also be required when machinery develops mechanical faults.
Experience with lubrication and coolant systems is particularly useful for CNC machine maintenance. Proper lubrication helps protect bearings, guideways, ball screws, and other moving components from premature wear.
Candidates should have practical knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical maintenance principles. Bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, and other rotating components require regular inspection to maintain equipment reliability.
The technician will contribute to improving equipment availability, reliability, and production continuity by responding quickly to mechanical problems and completing maintenance activities efficiently.
Safety is an essential part of industrial maintenance work. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician must follow established safety procedures while carrying out inspections, repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
The technician should also work according to applicable quality and operational standards and ensure that maintenance work is completed correctly before equipment is returned to production.
This opportunity is suitable for Mechanical Maintenance Technicians with approximately 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience and practical knowledge of CNC machines, SPMs, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and preventive/corrective maintenance.
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant qualification is required, along with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Candidates with strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and experience working with production machinery can consider this Abu Dhabi opportunity as a potential career option in the UAE industrial sector.
