In this specialized industrial security role, you will spearhead conducting OT threat hunting, endpoint hardening, supply chain security assessments, and incident response across complex industrial facilities. Detailed Job Description
As an OT Industrial Cybersecurity Specialist at Mekdam Holding Group in Qatar, you will take full ownership of industrial threat detection, endpoint security management across engineering workstations, and OT compliance auditing. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass deploying anti-malware solutions for legacy industrial control systems, managing patch lifecycles for non-Windows operating systems, conducting wireless security surveys in plant environments, and executing security awareness training for industrial operators. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate security alerts and enforce defense-in-depth principles. Working in a fast-paced industrial environment in Qatar, you will drive operational security maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead industrial threat hunting operations and continuous security monitoring across OT and ICs environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoint protection solutions on industrial engineering workstations and historian servers.
- Manage vulnerability remediation and patch coordination lifecycles for industrial control system assets.
- Conduct wireless security assessments, Bluetooth/RF audits, and perimeter penetration testing across plant facilities.
- Collaborate proactively with IT/OT convergence teams, plant engineers, and external security vendors.
- Implement supply chain security controls, vendor remote access governance, and jump host hardening.
- Investigate industrial security incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and author detailed incident response reports.
- Maintain comprehensive vulnerability registers, security metrics dashboards, and compliance audit logs.
- Ensure strict alignment with industry best practices and standards including NIST SP 800-82 and IEC 62443.
- Provide expert operational guidance on industrial security tools and secure engineering practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation & Control Systems, Industrial Control Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 to 10 years of professional working experience in industrial cybersecurity, IT/OT security operations, or threat analysis within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors.
- Strong technical proficiency in OT threat detection, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.
- Solid practical knowledge of industrial control system architectures, historian servers, and engineering workstations.
- Proven ability to conduct security risk assessments and formulate actionable remediation plans for industrial assets.
- Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and clear technical communication skills.

- Professional certifications such as GICSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP.
- Hands-on experience with industrial passive asset discovery and threat detection platforms (Claroty CTD, Nozomi Guardian).
- Prior working experience in oil refineries, LNG plants, or heavy industrial sectors across the GCC.
- Advanced knowledge of secure remote access architectures (Bastion hosts, MFA for OT).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic.
