Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner with strong Data project experience to define product vision, manage the product backlog, and drive the successful delivery of Data initiatives.
The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Data, Engineering, QA, Architecture, and other cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear product requirements and ensure delivery of high-value data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, objectives, roadmap, and priorities for Data initiatives.
- Own and manage the product backlog , ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.
- Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria .
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Developers, Architects, QA, Scrum Masters, and business teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer needs, dependencies, risks, and technical considerations .
- Facilitate and participate in Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and other Agile ceremonies .
- Provide timely clarification and decisions to the delivery team during development and testing.
- Review delivered features and validate that they meet the defined business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with business teams for UAT, feedback, and sign-off .
- Identify and manage product-level risks, dependencies, issues, and scope changes.
- Track delivery progress and communicate product status, priorities, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Scrum Master to ensure effective Agile delivery and continuous improvement.
- Drive alignment between business objectives and technical implementation across Data initiatives.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of overall IT experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner.
- Strong experience working with Scrum/Agile teams delivering Data projects .
- Strong understanding of Data and Digital initiatives and data-driven business requirements.
- Proven experience in product backlog ownership, prioritization, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition .
- Strong stakeholder management experience across business and technology teams.
- Experience working closely with Data Engineering, Data Analytics, QA, Architecture, and Engineering teams .
- Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and product delivery.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence .
- Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
