ABOUT THRESH
Thresh Consulting is a modern digital consulting firm built for the AI era—where strategy, execution, and craft come together to deliver real outcomes with speed. Our specialty is helping organizations design, build, and scale digital products that create exceptional customer experiences and drive value.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role didn't exist two years ago.
AI has changed how digital work gets done. Teams are smaller, cycles are shorter, and the distance between strategy and execution has collapsed. The traditional split no longer holds, where a strategist sets direction and a separate product team delivers. Our clients need one leader who can do both.
As Product Strategy Lead, you own the executive relationship and shape what the work should be. You also stay in the work with your team: prototyping ideas, pressure-testing designs, and making the delivery calls that decide whether a strategy succeeds. In the same week you might present an investment case to senior client leaders and help a product manager unblock a sprint.
This is not a role for a product manager who prefers to stay out of the executive room. It is also not for a strategist who has stopped doing the work themselves. At Thresh, a Product Strategy Lead must be capable of both.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
CLIENT & ENGAGEMENT LEADERSHIP
- Own client relationships at the executive level. Lead strategy reviews, roadmap sessions, and steering committees.
- Turn complex tradeoffs into clear business decisions, each with a recommendation attached.
- Turn ambiguous client asks into scoped, staffed plans, and help shape proposals and follow-on work.
- Develop executive material, owning and presenting the clear, actionable story that accompanies every product investment.
PRODUCT & BUSINESS STRATEGY
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and prioritization frameworks with a clear line of sight to revenue, retention, and growth.
- Translate business strategy — including channel strategy, competitive positioning, and offer architecture — into sequenced, actionable product plans.
- Define KPIs, OKRs, and success metrics that reflect both product performance and business impact.
- Identify and champion opportunities using data, market signals, and direct client insight.
- Build growth projections and ROI models that justify product investment and strategic pivots.
DELIVERY ACCOUNTABILITY & TECHNICAL FLUENCY
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for product outcomes across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Oversee backlog prioritization and delivery workflows at scale, guiding teams through complex build decisions.
- Partner credibly with engineering and design on technical and experience tradeoffs — you can go deep, not just delegate.
- Ensure launches are well-coordinated, well-measured, and tied to real business results.
TEAM LEADERSHIP & PRACTICE BUILDING
- Lead, mentor, and develop 2–3 Product Managers, Product Owners, or Strategists.
- Establish delivery standards, requirements-quality expectations, and a culture of clear thinking and accountability.
- Provide structured coaching and regular feedback.
- Drive AI adoption and innovation at the pace of the market — and expect your team to do the same.
- Help shape the standards, tools, and talent of Thresh’s growing Product and Strategy practice.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 6-8+ years spanning product management and product/digital strategy, including experience with enterprise leadership
- Prior client services experience a plus, whether owning client relationships or understanding how to scope, staff, and lead engagements.
- People leadership, coaching, or mentorship experience.
- Strong strategic thinking paired with genuine execution discipline.
- Fluency with modern AI tools for research, synthesis, and strategy development.
- Excellent communication with executives and delivery teams alike.
