As a Project Controls PM at MP, You Will:
- Lead project controls frameworks (cost, schedule, risk, and change management) for Life Sciences or Energy initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., AACE, PMI, or sector-specific regulations).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor, analyze, and report on project performance.
- Drive data-driven decision-making through KPIs, dashboards, and forecasting.
Role Summary
We’re seeking a Project Controls PM to oversee the planning, monitoring, and reporting of projects in Life Sciences or Energy. This role requires expertise in cost estimation, schedule management, risk analysis, and earned value management (EVM), combined with strong stakeholder communication and regulatory compliance knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Controls & Governance
- Develop and maintain integrated project controls plans (cost, schedule, risk, and change management).
- Implement EVM (Earned Value Management) to track project health and performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (AACE, PMI) and sector-specific regulations (FDA, GxP, ISO, or energy compliance frameworks).
- Cost & Schedule Management
- Lead cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting for projects.
- Monitor schedule adherence, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Risk & Change Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks (cost, schedule, scope).
- Manage change requests, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines and budgets.
- Develop contingency plans for high-impact risks.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Design and maintain project dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or Excel) for real-time performance tracking.
- Generate monthly/quarterly reports for stakeholders, highlighting KPIs, trends, and recommendations.
- Leverage data analytics to forecast project outcomes and optimize resource allocation.
- Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project controls, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
- Facilitate project review meetings, presenting performance data and action plans.
- Translate technical project controls data into business-friendly insights for executives.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline project controls processes (e.g., automation, tool standardization).
- Support the adoption of best practices in project controls across the organization.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–8 years in Project Controls, Project Management, or PMO roles, with a focus on Life Sciences or Energy.
- Strong expertise in cost management, scheduling (Primavera P6, MS Project), and EVM.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and project management software (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet).
- Experience with risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance (FDA, GxP, ISO, or energy standards).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Nice-to-Have Skills
- Background in consulting or client-facing roles.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and hybrid project environments.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, or advanced analytics for project controls.
- Experience with contract management and vendor coordination.
- Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or AACE certifications (e.g., CCP, EVP) are a strong plus.
- Life Sciences/Energy sector certifications (e.g., PMI-PBA, RMP) are valued.
