This is not a role focused solely on journal entries and month-end close. While you will have core accounting responsibilities, a meaningful portion of the position involves financial analysis, management reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and special projects .

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare and analyze financial and management reporting used by leadership to understand business performance.
• Perform account analysis, variance analysis, and detailed reviews of general ledger activity.
• Complete ad hoc financial analyses and special projects, often working with large or complex data sets.
• Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Build and maintain sophisticated Excel-based reporting and analytical tools.
• Analyze financial information to identify trends, unusual activity, and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with management to recommend solutions and improve existing processes and reporting.
• Support departmental and management reporting, schedules, reconciliations, and related financial activities.
• Review transactions and account activity to ensure information is recorded accurately and appropriately.
• Assist with testing and enhancement of financial and management reporting.
• Work cross-functionally with other areas of the organization to research and resolve issues.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including reviewing work and assisting with training.
• Participate in special projects that provide exposure beyond the traditional accounting function.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3+ years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Strong accounting foundation combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large amounts of financial data.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and take ownership of projects.
• Strong attention to detail while still being able to understand the bigger financial picture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
