Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Specialist to help advance and protect the reputation of our client across the Americas and Europe. This role will lead proactive and reactive media relations, support regional and global communications initiatives, and translate complex ratings insights and analysis into compelling external narratives. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on communicator with strong media relationships and exceptional writing skills. This individual will also support executive communications and contribute to internal communications as needed while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Public Relations & Media Relations
- Execute integrated public relations strategies aligned with business priorities across the Americas and Europe.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial, business, and trade media.
- Identify proactive media opportunities that increase visibility for research, thought leadership, and executives.
- Manage inbound media inquiries and coordinate timely, accurate responses.
- Monitor emerging issues, market developments, and reputational risks, providing communications counsel.
- Partner with commercial, product, analytical, legal, and enterprise communications teams to maintain consistent messaging.
- Support crisis communications and issues management as needed.
Executive Communications
- Provide communications support to senior leaders and subject matter experts.
- Draft talking points, speeches, presentations, media briefings, bylined articles, and Q&A materials.
- Develop executive visibility strategies that reinforce leadership positioning and business priorities.
- Prepare leaders for media interviews, conferences, customer events, and internal engagements.
Internal Communications
- Serve as a strategic communications advisor and primary point of contact for senior business leaders.
- Support leadership messaging, employee communications, organizational announcements, and change communications.
- Ensure alignment between internal and external narratives.
- Collaborate with internal communications colleagues to deliver coordinated campaigns.
Strategic Counsel & Measurement
- Advise business stakeholders on communications strategy and execution.
- Develop communications plans aligned with organizational objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor media coverage, communications performance, and share-of-voice trends.
- Recommend improvements to communications effectiveness, visibility, and impact.
Required Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or strategic communications.
- Experience supporting complex, highly regulated, or professional services organizations.
- Strong media relations background with established business, financial, and trade media relationships.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling communications.
- Experience supporting senior executives and developing executive communications materials.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to navigate and use AI in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in financial services, ratings, capital markets, professional services, or related industries.
- Familiarity with internal communications, employee engagement, and change communications.
- Experience in reputation management and crisis communications.
- Experience working within global, matrixed organizations.
