Staff Accountant

Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time role based in Nashville, TN with the flexibility to work from home for part of the schedule. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, including recording journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. The Staff Accountant will support budgeting and forecasting processes, assist with cash flow monitoring, and help prepare documentation for audits, financial advisory engagements, and client reporting. The role also involves analyzing financial data for accuracy and trends, supporting compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and collaborating with senior team members on client projects. The Staff Accountant will work closely with operations and leadership to ensure timely, reliable financial information that supports decision-making and client service.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in general accounting principles, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and present clear, concise findings to team members.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow concepts, with experience supporting these processes.
• Detail-oriented work style with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
• Experience in healthcare, professional services, or advisory environments is beneficial, especially exposure to complex transactions or restructurings.
• Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
